A New Years' Wish - Return to Grace

Grace,
Refinement
Dignity
A sense of propriety
Grace,
Goodwill
Generosity
Mercy
Grace,
Is Divine love

Today, It seems grace is sadly lacking in our society.
With the Advent of Cell phones & Internet
Propriety is out of fashion.
At any given time
One can find someone spewing unkind words at another.
Personal issues are no longer personal
but posted for the world to see.

People proudly bandy about their use/abuse of
Alcohol & prescription meds
They discuss their love lives, family, friends
They call it "venting"

Fellow Pagans putting down one another.
Pagans putting down Christians and other religions
Those in the Craft claiming Their way is The Way...

What happened to Grace?
A basic tenet of The Craft of The Wise is
To Know Grace
Knowing Grace is Compassion towards others
Knowing Grace is kindness
Knowing Grace is restraint
Knowing Grace is to be Humble
Knowing Grace is To Honor & Respect the Divine,
In all we do.

Isis/Aset/Hecate
May your daughters rise up
May they bring your words to light
May they show the way
May we return to grace

The Solstice, The Full Moon & An Eclipse

This Tuesday marks the arrival of the Solstice.
This particular Solstice arrives during a Full Moon
& a lunar eclipse.

The Solstice itself is a time for looking inward.
A time of reflection
But it is also a time of Magick
During a Solstice/Full Moon
All sorts of wonderful magick can be manifested
So now we have a Solstice/Full Moon/Eclipse
All manner of Magick can manifest here, right?

Well, not exactly.
This eclipse arrives during a VOID
In my time zone, EST

The eclipse/void arrives at 3:13 AM
Now most of us understand voids.
In fact I'm sure many have experienced
Magick gone awry,
Only to find there was a void during the working.

Does this mean we don't work any magick?
Of course not.
We rearrange.
We work before the eclipse.
Do we get the benefit of the Eclipse?
Yes and No
No, We will not reap any magickal benefit
From this particular eclipse
Yes, It brings a special spiritual significance

The Celestial Event is full of Spiritual Energy
Change is coming
She is rising
In different cultures,
Called by many names
She is calling to Her children
Could this be a precursor to the Aquarian Age?
I don't know
But what I do know,
This is Magick of the greatest kind

Tarot on Tuesdays

This Tuesday I'll be providing the reading.
Join us on FB and post your questions before
6PM on Monday!

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice
We honor The Mother Goddess
The birth of the son/sun,
Brings forth hope, renewal
The cycle of life continues
The Wheel of the year turns
Season to Season

The Circle of life
From the barren winter season
The flame of hope burns
Guiding us,
Reminding us of the seedling
Ready to break through the frozen Earth
To begin the cycle again

A gift from The Great Mother
The Son/Sun is that seedling
Her gift to us.

Hope
Faith
Love

As we light our candles
As we burn the Yule log
May we always be thankful
May we honor the Wheel
May we know that Hope & Love is eternal, if we have faith

Rhiannon's Dream Blend

Rhiannon's Dream Blend
Intuitive Goddess

Rhiannon, Lunar Goddess
It is said that on Yule Rhiannon visits;
She enters our dreams, learns our desires
& guides us.
The following can be placed in a sachet,
(any type of small bag) or if you're feerling
crafty, you could make a pillow.

A bag or cloth - White or Silver

1 teaspoon of the following Herbs:
Mugwort - To grant vision
Thyme - To call the Fey, Rhiannon is a Fairy Queen
Catnip or Mint - Attraction, Cats sacred to Rhiannon
Jasmine - Lunar, Sacred to Rhiannon

A small piece of quartz

** I do not recommend using oils in the blends
as the scent can be too overpowering & traditionally
we have only used the herbs

Manifesting Magick through Dreams

Dream Weaving,
Manifesting Magick during the dream state.
More than Dream interpretation
More than receiving messages
Dream weaving is
Active.

We begin by creating a Dream Altar.
A sacred space for the preparation
& workings of dream magick.
Keep your dream altar as close to your sleeping
area as possible.
It can be as simple as a piece of quartz & some fresh
lavender or as elaborate as Statuary to a Dream Goddess
such as Rhiannon,
Items to assist you in Dream State &
Offerings to Spirit/ Goddess/God

Manifesting in Dream State is working
in another realm.
That which applies to manifestation during
waking hours does not apply to dream state.
We do not work with voids,
nor astrological correspondences
Days of the week - do not matter on the astral plane.

So what do we work with?
Herbs, crystals, stones
Paper & pen
We create teas to drink before sleep
We lay herbs under our pillows or
Create sachets, Dream pillows
We place crystals under our pillow,
We wear them
We write our desires upon a paper
placed upon our dream altar,
We place them in our sachets, pillows
We pray, we call upon Spirit, Our Higher Selves,
The Great Mother
Then we dream
We make it so
Dream a little magick into your life

Dream Weaving

Dreams
Sometimes prophetic, often analyzed
Our dreams speak to us
Dreams offer us an opportunity to exist in another realm.

Our dreams can be a guide or a blueprint
Dreams can be a doorway to manifesting
The ancients knew this.

In Egypt, Priestesses of Isis prepared Herbs
of prophetic sleep
For they knew that She shall come in time of dreams
Guiding Her daughters.

In Native American cultures,
Medicine Men & Women use their dreams
to manifest a world for their children and their children's children.

Today Dream Weaving although almost a lost art;
Remains a powerful manifestation tool.
For in Dream State we enter another realm
We exist in a place of possibilities
We coexist with Spirit, Our higher selves
It is here The Great Mother breathes life into our dreams.
So before heading off to sleep,
Spend some time in the silence
Map your dreams, visualize your world
Bring Her an offering
Call to the Great Mother
May She guide your dreams

Tarot on Tuesdays - Why?

A while back I decided to get a reading.
I have a list of readers that I have long admired
& decided the time was right to treat myself.

I went through my list.
Some were far too pricey.
Some had no or limited availability.
Some geographically undesirable
Finally I made my choice.

I was excited.
I thought, "What an incredible experience this will be"
My reading arrived.
No bells, no whistles..
No names, no future predictions, even the present
was way off.
I was shocked
Disappointed

A while later I decided to try again.
I picked another "Tarot" reader I admired.
The reading progressed slowly...
I offered no info & the reader was grasping.
Nothing related to me.
Finally I began to speak, to interact.
The reading improved but wasn't at all what I had "expected".

Now I had always "labeled" myself a tarot reader.
But the fact is I'm not so much a tarot reader
as I am an Intuitive.
I am clairvoyant. clairaudient.
I love tarot and utilize it as a marvelous visual tool.
When I sit down to read someone
I see things, I hear things...
When I look at the cards, images dance & beckon
Suddenly I began to see the difference.
I understood when clients expressed their own disappointments
with readers.
The problem lies NOT with the readers but with the public's
understanding of readings.

Readers are not all the same.
Readings vary.
Some read Tarot,
working interactively with the client
to guide them in the present circumstances
Some provide life path counseling
Others use Oracle cards
And Yes, some of us are psychic
All serve a purpose, as long as the client understands
With understanding One gets results.

So, Why Tarot on Tuesdays?
To help people understand the different types of readings
After all, Not everyone likes Chocolate Ice Cream
To give people the opportunity to get to know different readers
With their different gifts
To say Thank You to The Goddess
For Blessing me with "sight"
For giving me work I love
For getting to know some wonderful women
May you get to know them too

Yesterday I decided to do something a bit different..
I pulled a card & see what the message was
for all the "Black Friday" & Holiday weekend shoppers...
Now I fully expected to pull a card like the Seven of Cups,
and get a message of choices, decisions.
Perhaps the Devil, to represent
Our preoccupation with Material goods...
Then I pulled the card -
Knight of Cups!

At first I was surprised. Caught off guard.
Knight of Cups.
Opportunity, Invitation.
Hmmm... Not quite the message I thought.
Ok, The knight Is a bit of a dreamer, not always
making practical choices, so the obvious message
would be to remind people to use logic
& thought when making purchases.
Sometimes in the mad rush, we fail to do just
that.

Then I saw it. The Fish.
The knight's vest held the message.
Fish are symbolic of many things.
The Fish carries a message of Spirit,
for many religious traditions
and many cultures.
The Fish, for Christians is a symbol of Christ.
What then could be more appropriate?
The message had made itself clear.

For whether you are out shopping this weekend
in preparation of Christmas,
Yule, Chanukah or any other tradition,
Remember "Why" you celebrate the season.
In your quest to find your perfect gifts
Remember Why you celebrate.
Remember this is a time of thankfulness,
Of gratitude
Of honor
These things are not found
wrapped up in a pretty package
tied in ribbon
These things can not be bought at Macy's or Best Buy
Our love can not be measured by how much time we spend
standing on line, pushing our way through crowds.

That is the true message the Knight of Cups brings.
Love.
Love, sometimes overlooked
Love is the Holy Grail
Love is the gift we give best
As the Beatles once said,
"Love is all you need"

Thanksgiving - Honoring the Land

As a child in school I remember hearing
of the pilgrims & the "first" Thanksgiving...
Over the years I have heard much debate

over the origins of Thanksgiving.
Now, I am no historian but some things I do know.
I know that however it began,

Thanksgiving was a celebration
of the harvest.
A Thank You to Mother earth for Her bounty .
A Thank you to God/Spirit for providing

I know that George Washington first declared it a
day of Nationwide celebration. This is His proclamation,
"
recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

Today there is separation of church & state.
Today we complicate things.
Today we often forget the roots of Thanksgiving.
For those early people, whether Pilgrim,
Native American, Canadian or Spaniard ;
they were grateful.
They honored the land, first and foremost.
They honored "God"
For providing through the Winter season,
For giving them a place to practice their religious beliefs.

For Me,
I am Grateful each day for the gifts of The Great Mother
I am Grateful for the land I walk upon

I am grateful that I can wear my pentacle publicly
& not fear religious persecution.
Yes, we as a people have far to go
But today, I am grateful.

I offer these words...
This Thanksgiving may we remember this truth
Mother Earth does not belong to us, we are
a part of the land.

"One does not sell the land people walk on." ..
Crazy Horse, Sept. 23, 1875

Devotion to Hecate

Hecate/Isis/Aset
I am your daughter
Devotee
Priestess
In saffron & midnight sky
I kneel before The Great Mother
Three candles burn upon Her altar

Three stones I do wear
The stone of the Dark Mother
She who protects
The stone of Her Lifeblood
She who creates
The stone of Her Moon
She who is the light guiding our path

I am your priestess
I ask that I may walk the path of the ancient ones
Wise Ones
Priestesses who came before me
I ask that I may serve you with honor
To remain humble in thy service
I am your voice
For those who seek your guidance
I listen with my heart
To hear your words

For I am your daughter
Devotee
Priestess
Seer

True Power

True Power comes in a whisper
It need not be announced.
True power can neither be taught,
Nor bought
True power is the silent strength
Of a lifetimes wisdom
Of lessons learned
For those who hold true power
Need never brag or speak of it.
True power is gentle,
Yet can yield a fury equal to Nature Herself
When need be.
True power stands back and observes
Watching those with claims of power
Flounder around foolishly
Never to know true power.
For true power can not be obtained
True power lives within One's soul

Samhain Blessings

Tonight I begin my celebration of Samhain at midnight.
At 12 o'clock,

I will light a candle to honor The Goddess.
My altar will be dressed with offerings of

Pomegranate, Apples, Honey.
Each of which I will taste.
I will sit in quiet meditation
and remember my loved ones
who have passed over.
I will honor the Dark,

The coming of Winter soon to be.
I will Honor The Goddess

In her aspect as Dark Mother.

For me, She is Hecate.
For others She is Inanna, Cerridwen
Kali, Demeter, Morrigan
At Samhain,

We each honor Her our own way.

For My family
Tomorrow's celebration will begin with Dinner.
A place will be set for those who have passed.
A meal will be set out for Her creatures that
reside in the woods.
Following the meal,
My guests will have an opportunity
to honor their ancestors.
We will finish the evening with Candle magick
and Readings for the coming year.

However you celebrate,
Whomever you Honor,
May The coming of the Winter months
Go gently By.
May The Coming Year be filled with promise
and May you always Honor Her.

Full Moon in Aries & The Coming of Samhain

Tonight's Full Moon in Aries segues perfectly
into the fire festival of Samhain.
Aries, Infant of the Zodiac

Aries, Fire Sign

With the coming of Winter,
Fire sustains us.
In the Dark months,
Fire lights the way to new beginnings.
Fire is the energy that burns within each of us.

The Ancients knew the power of fire.
They honored the sacredness of it.
Fire Cleanses
It purifies
Fire has the ability to Create or Destroy.

This Samhain honor the sacredness of fire.
Remember it's importance to our ancestors.

Keep a candle burning to light the way for your ancestors.
Burn you negative thoughts, habits, energies
In the Samhain fire, to make way for the new.
For like the phoenix rising from the ashes,
Fire has the power to transform.

May you honor all that is sacred

Hecate

Around this time last year, we had a fire.
Thankfully No one was hurt

& the damage was minimal.
For that I give Thanks to Hecate.

The evening of the fire I was awakened
around 1AM by a loud crash.

I must have bolted right up.
Nothing. Silence.
I sat awake listening, but the house was quiet.
Eventually I settled back to sleep.
Again I found myself awakened by a loud crash.
2AM
The house is still.

I look around, finding nothing
I head back to bed.
My boyfriend is snoring away &

the cats have not stirred
So I head back to sleep.
A series of crashes & I jump up.
This time while I am sitting up, I hear the crash.
I shake my boyfriend who heard it himself.
Sshh - I think Someone's in the house.
More crashes...
The sound was like someone had taken a bat
to the downstairs bar.
My boyfriend reaches for his gun ( Yes, it's legal)
Now that was a sight...
He's sneaking down the stairs in his underwear
gun in hand like Dirty Harry.
Me, running like a crazy woman

looking for a bat, large stick
or something to hit the "culprit" on the head with.

Next thing I know, He's yelling
"The house is on fire!"
We run downstairs -
Flames coming out of the Sunroom.
We grab fire extinguishers.
I can NOT express the importance of fire extinguishers
whether one resides in an apt or home.
Fortunately we were able to get the fire
out before help arrived.

So now I'm standing in this pile of rubble.
An altar that sat in the Sunroom, gone.
The table is no more.
Everything is charred... Even picture frames are gone.
Too shocked to cry, I'm looking at the damage when I see it..
Off to the side, untouched
A card stock illustration of Hecate.
Reaching over to pick it up when I hear noise..
Caw, Caw, Caw...
Three large Ravens, and I do mean large
Have landed on the fence & are looking directly at us.
A sign from the Goddess.

Hecate
If it were not for the dreams
I may have slept until it was too late
To save our home or maybe even our lives.
Hecate
The Dark Goddess many fear
Hecate
To me, She is The Most Beautiful One
Hecate
Her torch guides my way
It is she I will always honor in this sacred space
Hecate/Isis/Aset
May you find the light in the darkness

Season of the Witch

Yesterday My Mom called.
After chatting a bit, Mom asked
"So are you putting up your altar?"
"Yes" I assured Her.
"What about Grandma's picture,

it's here you know".
She proceeded to remind me of

an Uncle, a few cousins,
all of whom should be placed on the altar.

Not typical conversation

for the average family.
Mom's concerns come from my relocation.
This year I am unable to make

the commute home for Halloween/Samhain.
It will be difficult for both Mom & Myself.
Like any other family,

We gather together & celebrate.
We honor the seasons,

We honor ancestors,
We honor The Goddess.
We have our rituals, our meals

& our magick.

This year there will be new ritual,

New faces at my table.
New friends sharing in the celebration.
My altar will reflect these changes.
While I am saddened by this change,
I acknowledge this is a season of change.
The wise know that change is inevitable.

My Lady will guide me through the changes.
The Season of the Witch is not always gentle.
The Season of the Witch
Is one of faith,

for we stand at the crossroads
knowing we must not look back
The Season of the Witch
Is a time of Hope & Dreams
We give ourselves over to The Goddess,
And in so doing
We open the path to creation
Without faith we will never learn to manifest our dreams
May you let go & let Goddess guide you

10/10/10

When Mother Earth is no longer a "commodity"
To be bought & sold
When the land beneath our feet belongs

to every living creature,
Then We shall know peace.

When in the heart of Each one of us
lives contentment,
Then We shall know peace.

When every Man, woman & child
Understands that Spirit, Goddess, God
As seen through the eyes of every culture,
Addressed in their own language,
Called by a Name familiar to them,
Is the Same Goddess/God
Each of Us call to;
Only Then shall we know peace

The Great Mother Calls

She who points the way
The road opens
I walk it
I do not follow
For SHE is the light
By which We create our destiny

The Magick of Licorice Root

To the ancient Egyptians,
Licorice Root was prized for it's medicinal
as well as magickal properties.
For the Priestesses
Medicine & Magick were one and the same.

Among it's medicinal uses;
It is an expectorant
Used in teas, cough remedies, etc.
As an anti inflammatory
It is used to soothe skin disorders such as Eczema,
Useful in treatment of canker sores & peptic ulcers.
Licorice Root is also known for it's estrogenic properties.

So what does any of this have to do with Magick?
It's use in sex & love magick is rooted
in those same estrogenic properties.
The root is often chewed for sexual potency.
It is "sprinkled" in the footprints of a lover
to keep them from wandering.
It is used in love oils & incense.
But it's greatest strength is the Magick of Protection.

Protection Magick.
Licorice root was buried in the tombs
of the deceased,
to protect the Soul on it's journey.
It was placed in amulets worn by Priestesses .
The same qualities that expel toxins,
poisons from the body,
Expels negative energy from our lives.
The same energy that creates a barrier
to soothe & protect our bodies
from ulcers, skin irritations
Provides a protective barrier around the magickal practitioner.
Today, we still value it
For it's Protective qualities.
It is one of the Nine Sacred Herbs of protection.
Use it in a Mojo Bag with other protective Herbs & crystals
Use it in a cleansing bath
Mix it in an incense,
Stuff it in a poppet to bind a person or bad habit
from your life.
But remember to always use caution & common sense --
(Licorice root should NOT be used by pregnant women
or by those with High Blood pressure & Edema)

Licorice Root is Sacred to the Goddess.
Use it as an offering
Use it wisely and it shall serve
you well.

Cleansing, Binding, Banishing, Oh My!

Recently I sat in on a class being given by a colleague.
The class, beginning herbalism; focused on Medicinal uses
with a brief mention of "magickal properties".
Of course being the Witch that I am,
I had to jump in on occasion.
Everything was going smoothly until Licorice Root.

Licorice Root
Expectorant, Antiviral, antibacterial
Love, Lust, fertility
Then I made the statement
"Licorice is a sacred herb of protection"
Heads turned.
You could have heard a pin drop.
My colleague said "We don't do that kind of stuff here"
What kind of stuff?
What is it about protective magick
that makes people uncomfortable?

Protective magick is necessary
Protective magick is NOT about harming others
It is a magick that ensures us the best possible circumstances
within our own life
Protective magick shields us from negativity
Protective magick is a barrier we call upon
When we feel vulnerable

There are days each one of us could benefit
from a good cleansing bath.
There are moments when each of us will need
To banish energy that no longer serves us
There are times when we may need to bind
that harmful energy or habit.

We can learn much from nature
The practice of Magick is neither "good" nor "Bad"
like the lessons of "Licorice Root"
It's gift to us comes from it's ability to "Expel"
To protect the Human Body & in doing so,
It soothes & restores balance
That is a magick we must learn to embrace

Morgaine & The Magick of Glamoury

Glamoury
What exactly is it?
For the Celtic people Glamoury was Spell Work
Magick
Glamoury was the weaving of a spell
Over time it has gotten away from it's roots.
Often associated with Morgaine

Goddess, Queen
She is known by many names and many magicks
Among Her arts

Healing,Divination & Shapeshifting.

Shape shifting
The art of illusion.
Morgaine, Warrior Queen
Who used Her powers of Glamoury
To win battles for Her people
Shape shifting
The art of seeing

Through the eyes of another
To shape shift into an animal,

is to see how they see
To learn from their wisdom
To share in their knowledge
To become One with

Shape shifting is NOT

What one sees in Hollywood movies
Glamoury is NOT about changing one's eye color.
Shape shifting is a meditative state, astral travel
By today's definition Glamoury no longer means
The weaving of a Spell
Today it has come to mean

a particular form of Spell work

Let us Honor Morgaine
Let us learn Her truth
She has given Her people the Magick of Glamoury
It is the magick of Wisdom,
Hidden Knowledge

& Perhaps Her greatest gift for us -
For what we believe is the Art of illusion
Is in reality, The Magick of Confidence
May you be blessed with the magick of confidence

Gypsy, What's in a magickal name?

My mothers family came from Egypt.
Solomon
They were wealthy, educated
They were the "elite"
Why they left their beloved Egypt
I will never know for sure.
They traveled to Europe
eventually settling in Romania.
For all their money & education they were
looked down upon.
They were "Dirty" people
They were called Gypsies
For my great grandparents this word was filled with Hate.

Many People in the craft today choose magickal names.
Sometimes these names have significance to other
cultures, other peoples.
When choosing a name do you give thought to the culture
from where it came?
Before You choose that Native American name
or call yourself Gypsy,
Remember the power of Word & choose wisely
We are the voice of our Ancestors.
May we have the Wisdom to respect those that came before us

Cleansing Power of the Balsamic Moon

Today, The Balsamic Moon arrived.
The last Balsamic Moon of the Summer,
Gracing us with an opportunity for cleansing &
release before the arrival of Autumn.

Soon we will begin our decent into the
dark half of the year.
The balsamic moon grants us one last opportunity
to "lighten" our load
To rid ourselves of habits that
Do not serve us well
To rid ourselves of people who may not belong
on our journey
To rid ourselves of ideas & thoughts that hinder our growth

This cleansing makes way for the abundance
we will need to carry us through the Winter Season
May you use the power of the Balsamic Moon wisely

Meditations, Messages under The Full Moon

Last Tuesdays Full Moon was for me,
A time of meditation.
A time of preparing incense & tinctures

It was also a time to communicate with My Lady
I asked what lessons She would like me to focus on
I asked what wisdom is to be shared

In this time,
In this sacred space
The words come
The message suddenly clear
She has been speaking to me of Earth
Season of change upon us
We move from the element of Water
And connect with the element of Earth

For in the temples we danced
Bare feet upon sacred ground
And on our feet anointed with oils
anklets, charms
the rhythm of temple bells
And our dance was a joyful one
Each step Her rhythm rising within
Her blood the pulse of the land
We felt Her then
We knew
We were wise

Full Moon in Pisces

Pisces is a sign of duality
Two fish swimming in different directions
Each following its own path.
Past and future
Beginning and end
Pisces like its element, Water
Can be warm or cold
Feelings influenced strongly by it's environment.

But fish also swim in schools
Fluid, flexible
This too, like its element Water.
If we can learn to swim upstream,
Following the lessons of cooperation

and compassion Pisces offers
We can manifest all manner of magick

May you use this Moon to practice the magick of Compassionate Cooperation

Simplicity of Grounding

This past weekend I was Blessed with
an abundance of clients.
Now, I love doing readings.
The energy in the moment is amazing &

readings are fun,
BUT readings are draining.
Anyone who reads knows it is always

good practice to cleanse afterwards.

At the end of each day,
I place my cards & crystals on a small table in my garden.
Although I smudge, use salt among my methods of cleansing,
there is nothing like fresh air.
Walking over to the table, I hear "Take your shoes off".
Okay, I stop, take a deep breath & remove my sandals.
"Walk on the grass, now".
About now you're thinking I'm slightly crazy?

But I know She is speaking and I listen.

I walk over to the grass. The feeling is magickal.
The grass, a plush carpet beneath my feet.
Damp, cool
I relax, I giggle feeling like a child again.
Suddenly I realize how rooted my body feels to this Earth.
I feel Mother Earth rising within.
Grounded, Peaceful
My strength renewed by Mother Earth.
There are many ways to ground,

To connect one's self
May you find your strength in Mother earth

This afternoon I spent some time before my altar.
Time giving honor to The Goddess
Time saying Thank You
It was a time of meditating
Listening

I wanted this time to find a focus.
I have new students
A blog dedicated to My Lady
I asked
"What is the message you want me to share?"
Do I focus on the elements,
or the coming change of season?
As I ask, I begin to hear
And so I grab paper & pen

This is the message
Take what you will from it
Believe what you chose
All I ask is that you do not judge

For in the temples we once were upon our knees
for hours
But we were not there to bow in humility
We were there to learn
In secret times
In quiet time
To learn Her ways
To share Her message
And those who thought they were pious,
were not
And they were cast out
And those that stayed were sisters
And lived the ways
To teach their daughters
And their daughter's daughters
For the time shall come
And She will rise again
The Goddess Whispers
Softly
In the ears of those whose
Hearts are open
The Goddess calls

quietly
A voice in the night to those whose
Minds are open
The Goddess beckons

Gently
Her name upon the lips
Of those who seek to know Her
The Goddess kisses Her children
Her daughters wear Her mark
Wisely
For their soul has been

caressed
by The Great Mother

New Moon & The Magick of Leo

August,
Synonymous with Leo.
Warm, Sunny, Benevolent Leo.
Leo has many lessons to share with us.

Leo shines with confidence.
Leo takes care of business,
Yet knows the importance of fun.
Broad Minded, Loyal
Leo understands the meaning of friendship

Leo also warns us to be wary,
For too much confidence can turn to egotism
Placing too much importance on business can
turn to materialism and occasionally

Leo's benevolent nature can become
bossy & intolerant.

Use the Magick of Leo wisely,
This New Moon.
Leo Magick can bring prosperity & abundance.
Leo Magick brings fun & romance

but use care,
For Leo is in love with love -

flirty, fun but not much staying power
Leo Magick IS the magick of generosity
There is no better time to use the gift of magick
to help another.

May the Magick of benevolence light your path

Offering to Isis Incense - Intuitive Goddess

Myrrh
Mysore - White Sandalwood
Orris Root
Dried Blue Lotus Petals - if none available you can use white rose petals
1 - 2 Drops Blue Lotus Oil

Grind 1 teaspoon of Myrrh in Mortar & pestle.

Myrrh is a resin & does not grind well
in blender or coffee grinder.
Add equal parts remaining dry ingredients & blend.
Add 1 - 2 drops of Blue Lotus oil - use sparingly

Blue Lotus is actually an Egyptian Water lily.

However, today it still goes by the name Lotus.
Purchase from a reliable source as there are many
imitations in the market.
Use a very small amount as it is costly &

can cause mild narcotic effects.
If you must substitute ingredients,

make sure to use Rose Attar or Rose absolute -
Also costly but easier to find.

The Power of Word

Word
It is Sacred.
Word
Breathes life into our intent
Word
Is the force that powers our magick

What gives Word its power?
For One,
The keeping of Word.
Word is more than simply making a vow
to The Goddess
Keeping of
Word
IS a way of life.
It is easy to promise to place flowers upon
one's altar weekly.
It is easy to promise one's devotion
to The Goddess
But it is the keeping of
Word
Which is truly devotion.
It is in the keeping of Word on a daily basis
which gives power to
Word.

Do you make a promise to a friend,

family member or co worker, only to break
it because it proves to be inconvenient?
Have you offered to help with something,
only to back out because of other plans?

Word IS sacrifice
Word IS sometimes inconvenient
But it is our willingness to make the sacrifice
that gives Word it power, it's breath
If we do not give weight, truth to our
Word
on the mundane, day to day matters
Then our Word holds no truth for The Goddess
Without truth our Word will never hold true power

May you learn the power of
Word

A Full Moon, Partial Eclipse, & A Coming of Change

Tomorrow's Full moon arrives in Capricorn.
It arrives with a partial lunar eclipse.
It also arrives with a Cardinal Cross...

The Sky foretells of change.
Change.
Sometimes welcome, a breath of fresh air
Sometimes the thing we fear most.
The Tower Card
A force of Nature, a circumstance

we can not control.
Change has a purpose.
It comes because it Is what is needed.

It comes with the guidance of Capricorn
Fixed Cappy.
Practical & stabile,
Capricorn dislikes change.
But it is the same practicality & stability
that offers it's greatest support in times of change.

May you learn to embrace the magick of change

Summer Solstice Giveaway
Summer Solstice, Water & A Lesson From The Goddess

Often times our insights come
when we least expect it.
Today was one of those unexpected moments.
My plans for the Solstice had just begun

to fall into place.
I would float bowls of water across the pool,
surrounding them by quartz crystals.
Sun Water!
Perfect for manifestation & healing magick
in the months ahead.

Walking over to the pool, I step down.
I'm not the sort to dive right in.
The waters still a bit cold for me &
I have no plans to go for a swim.
About to step out when I hear Her.
"Be one with the Water.
Remember, It is neither warm nor cold,
It just is."

Okay, So I'm about to get a lesson
about swimming?
Seems a bit bizarre & maybe
I should question my sanity but

I stop & listen.

I begin to focus on the Water.
Leaning into the Water but not diving in.
I feel a part "of"
I'm starting to remember.
I remember the lessons of Fire,
The Lesson of Earth, of Air.
I remember the lesson of Water.
The lessons of Magick.
To Be One With.
"Now". Immediately I dive in.
I feel a part of.
It is in this moment I hear
Her message,
Her lesson.

We need to learn to Be One with the Water
We were born of the Water,
We come from our Mothers womb.
Our lands, born of The Great Mother's Womb.
We are part of the Water,
As it is part of us.
We will never "master" the elements.
For that is Humankind's biggest mistake.

So, I pass these words along.
I will Focus my intent upon
Our Waters this solstice.
May we someday learn to "Be One"
with the gifts of the Great Mother,
Before it is too late.

Aragonite & Lessons in Being

Today I decided to spend some time in my garden.
Today I needed to make time just for me.
Time for meditation & making plans

for the Summer Solstice.
My journal, a deck of tarot cards &

some crystals in my hand, I headed
outside.

I was also accompanied by a new friend,
a funny little crystal I came across at work. Aragonite.
This Crystal just felt "right" the moment I picked it up.

I settle in on a lounge chair.
The aragonite firmly in my hand,
I begin rolling it around in my palm,

an unconscious movement.
I relax.
I begin to feel connected again.
Letting go of all the unimportant things.
"Stuff" that eats up the moments of our day.
The unimportant items

we place far too much emphasis on.

I listen. I
see.
The Great Mothers offers some important truths.
If we see not only with our eyes,
If we listen not only with our ears,
We have much to learn.
Honor each Plant, Rock & Tree
For they are our greatest teachers.

Blessing the Water - set an intention of love and healing

Dr. Emoto - author scientist, and humanitarian - has shared a brief, yet power prayer and we are passing it along here as a focal point, a space of conscious creation allowing us to move past fear, judgment and retribution into Unity, Harmony and Wholeness. This prayer is structured using Ho'oponopono and is directed initially at WATER - the element connecting ALL Life on the planet. Water ... the carrier of Spirit and the flow-er of Love!!!

Dr. Masaru Emoto's Healing Prayer for the Gulf:
"I send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all the living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, coral, algae, and all living creatures . . .I am sorry. Please forgive me.Thank you. I love you. "

We are passing this request to people who we believe might be willing to participate in this prayer, to set an intention of love and healing that is so large, so overwhelming that we can perform a miracle in the Gulf of Mexico. We are not powerless. We are powerful. Our united energy, speaking this prayer daily...multiple times daily....can literally shift the balance of destruction that is happening. We don't have to know how......we just have to recognize that the power of love is greater than any power active in the Universe today. Please join us in often repeating this healing prayer of of Dr. Emoto's. And feel free to copy and paste this to send it around the planet. Let's take charge, and do our own clean up!

The Feminine Side of The Sun

The Sun
Creative, Abundant, Fertile
The Sun
Healing, Restorative
Fiery, Passionate, protective
Seen as the domain of the masculine,
But the Sun was once seen as feminine.

Isis/Aset Protected her beloved Osiris
Created great magick, fashioning a phallus of gold
with which She Conceived a son
Isis/ Au Set
Mother of the Sun/Son

Sekhmet,
Protector, Warrior Goddess
Brigid
Her fires of Inspiration
Bast
Joy, Fertility, Sexuality
Sun Sister, Sunwoman,
All encompass the attributes today seen as masculine.

This Solstice, when honoring the Sun
Remember The Sun was once viewed as the Realm of The Goddess.

May you know the power of The Sacred Feminine

Candle for Our Ocean Waters

This New Moon I plan to light a candle for Yemeya.
Yeyeomo Eja
The Mother whose Children are the fish
Yemeya
Star of the Sea

I shall light a candle and ask Her to protect
Her children that dwell in Her waters.
I shall light a candle ask that She forgive US.
For too long we have disrespected Her Waters.
It is easy for us to blame others.
But as a people we have disrespected Mother Earth.
For it is our consumerism that drives those we lay blame to.
We over fish Her waters.
Our boats pollute the waters daily.
We chop down trees to build houses, shopping malls, highways.
We do these things in the name of "Progress"

Have we progressed?
Have we become enlightened?
The Wise Ones know it is the time of change.

Please join me & light a candle.
Ask Yemeya to heal her waters.
Ask the Great Mother to teach us to be one
with our Sacred Earth.

Recently, many of my clients & students have asked
about cleansing crystals.
They've read something online or in a book

and taken it as fact.
For today's Pagans there is so much information

readily available. The Internet has become a
major source of information.
There are blogs, web sites, forums.
A plethora of info.
Some of it excellent, some good and some incorrect.
If we take all that is presented as gospel,

we may not learn some important truths for ourselves.
Cleansing Crystals & Gemstones

Crystals & Gemstones are found in the Earth.
Mother Gaia. Terra Firma.
There are some which are found in the Oceans;
Such as Pearls, but Stones are predominantly found
within the Earth.

It is a Fact that Water can be harmful to the physical
properties of certain stones & crystals.
Some Crystals should not be cleansed in water.
Among those - Malachite, Azurite, Selenite,

Turquoise, Opal & Calcite

Another fact is Salt Water can be corrosive to many
Crystals & Stones.
Salt can change the physical properties of a crystal,
leaving you with a damaged stone.
Do not clean your Crystals with water

unless you have done your research.
A general rule of thumb - Stones with a hardness of less than 7.0
should NOT be cleansed with water.
For stones that can be cleansed in water,

Flower water is a better choice than salt.

Cleansing with Salt is fine, if done correctly.
Fill a dish with Sea Salt - Kosher, Himalayan works fine.
Place your crystal in the salt and DO NOT add water!
Leave it sit in the salt.
Cleanse your crystal by the Moons light.
Use care if placing Crystals in the Sun,

as it will cause fading with certain stones.
Smudging, is another good choice.

Of course there's Mother Earth herself.
I keep a bowl of Earth from a Sacred Place on my altar.
I place my Crystals in Her Earth when they need to be recharged.

Listen to the Stone People and they will teach you.
Pay attention to Mother Gaia, her mysteries are all around.
She will show you, if your eyes will see.
She will teach you, if your ears will hear.
Trust. Seek. Learn for yourself.

Divination Magick

There are as many forms of divination
as there are practitioners
Tarot, Runes, I-Ching
Tea leaves, pendulums & are but a few.

Scrying is one of my favorite methods.
Scrying is the practice of using a reflective surface
to aid in our ability to "see' and receive psychic messages.

Scrying can be done with a Crystal ball
A bowl of water or a special mirror.
Many use a "black" mirror which can be easily made
or purchased.
I have always used an ordinary mirror or a bowl of water.
If you can learn to scry with an ordinary mirror,
I recommend it.

It is important to cleanse your scrying tools.
The Full Moon not only affords us a
wonderful opportunity for divination magick
But it is always a wonderful time to "cleanse"
your tools under Lady Moons silver light!

I offer this Divination Wash,
May it help those who seek find their answers

Divination Wash/Tea

Boil Water. Blend Herbs together in bowl.
Pour the water over herbs and let steep.
Strain herbs and use liquid as a wash for your
scrying tools.
Liquid can also be added to your bath or taken as a tea -
just use precautions please!

A pinch of Yarrow
A dash of Mugwort
A smattering of Lemon Balm
3 Bay Leaves
A Sprinkle of Thyme
A Pinch of Damiana

Divination Charm

If The Lady's Wisdom
One does truly seek
The words shall come
One need not speak
Open thy heart and one shall hear
Thy Lady's word
Her meaning clear
-Intuitive Goddess
Divination, Truth under the Full Moon

Divination- The practice/art of foretelling future
events or discovering hidden knowledge

Divination is an art each of us can learn.
It is learning to connect with Spirit.
It is learning to hear our inner wisdom.
If we learn to use it properly,
it can bring us many gifts.
Divination brings choice.
It brings Hope & guidance.
Divination is Not always going to bring
what we want to hear
But if used wisely, it will show
what we need to find our truths.

Truth
Truth of Spirit is something each
must seek for themselves
Truth of the Journey
Is a path each must travel
on one's own
Truth of the Heart
Must be filled with joy
in the living

May you use the magick of the Full Moon to seek your truth

a little Harmony into the situation.

Your option.
After cleansing the Crystal - Plain cold running water is best;
Hold the crystal and focus your intent.
Place crystal on altar with the herbs.

The following day, Sprinkle some of the herbs

around the home or area of discord.
Place remaining herbs in cloth or bag

& keep in the area that needs positive energy.

I offer this simple charm:

By the Wood of Lilac Tree
A peaceful Home I ask of Thee
Waxing Light of Lady's Moon
I seek Thy help for this, Thy boon

The Magick of Harmony

We look to manifest many things
in our lives.
Money, Romance, Friendships
New Car, New Job
But how often do we seek to manifest harmony?
Without Harmony we are out of balance.
We are constantly seeking to find the "Thing"
which will bring happiness, but happiness

comes from the soul.
The Soul seeks peace, love -
The soul seeks to be in Harmony.

As a people
We need to live in Harmony with Mother Earth.
As individuals
We need Harmony in our homes, our relationships,
our lives
Without peaceful co-existence
in the workplace or our home,
We can never truly know abundance.

If we learn to manifest Harmony in our lives
Then we can manifest all manner of magick

New Moon in Taurus

The New Moon arrives with the
magick of beginnings.
Hope. Fresh starts.
Plans are made,
A new cycle of magick begins

Taurus
Fixed, Earthy, Patient
A Taurus moon is an

opportunity for abundance.
To focus on finances, money, property.
We learn from Taurus.
Slow & Steady. Patience is it's virtue.
But Taurus also carries with it

the lessons of
Harmony. Peace.

If we do not have harmony in our lives,
then the smallest most insignificant

matters take on importance.
They become magnified,
adding to the atmosphere of discontent.
Maybe the most important lesson

we can learn from Taurus
is to create harmony -
In our homes, in our lives.
For without harmony,

we can never truly have abundance

May we manifest an abundance of Harmony in our lives
