Do you know the difference?

A few nights ago,

While sitting before Her altar

I heard a message.
Not quite sure what to make of it,

Nonetheless I posted it.

A few days after the post,

A young women, who I know only in passing;

mentioned to me Her prowess in sacrificing

"Chickens" for Her Spiritual path.

In Our conversation,

She expressed how great was her sacrifice

& how she would be "blessed".

She mentioned how others do not understand.

How the animal was making this sacrifice

for Her Goddess.

I remembered My Lady's words.

So I asked,

"Do you know the difference between offering

& sacrifice?"

Today many people do not.

It's easy to make an offering.

We give a gift to please & appease.

We give a gift so we may be granted a "boon".

We offer Fruits, Flowers, Crystals.

Even the sacrificial rites of certain traditions are

offerings.

Sacrifice is different.

Sacrifice takes work.

Sacrifice often comes upon us

Unexpectedly.

Sacrifice is giving of one's time.

Sacrifice is helping those unable to

help themselves.

Sacrifice is a test of character,

Strength.

Great Spiritual leaders have been so

because they sacrificed.

Mother Theresa

Gandhi

The Dalai lama

Others, All who have sacrificed

For their people

For a cause

For their God/Goddess/Spirit

Therein lies the difference.

Can we all be Great Heroes to the world?

No.

We can be heroes to those around us.

If you truly seek the greatness of spiritual reward

Then you must first understand sacrifice.

Talkin Crystals II - Fake, Baked & Dyed

I'm not a big fan of Citrine.
It's just one of those Stones that I'm not drawn to.
Not to long ago I came upon a piece I couldn't resist.
I had to hold it.
Couldn't put it down.
The piece came home with me.
My first intention was to place it in the "Wealth"
Corner of my home,
but it didn't seem right.
Couldn't figure why,
After all Citrine is a stone of wealth.
The Citrine found it's home upon
one of my altars, nestled among a collection of Amethyst.
Perhaps My lady had chosen it, and so it remained there.

One day while researching Crystals
I came across "Baked" Citrine.
What exactly is it? Amethyst.
Yes, You heard right.

Amethyst & Citrine are varieties of Quartz.
Citrine is a lemon color, often very pale.
But it is also found in a rich Brown variety.
Amethyst is purple.
They are very similar & both respond well
to heat treatments.
The heat enhances their natural color
in varying degrees and can, in the case of Amethyst -
Change the actual color.
Amethyst then "becomes" Citrine.
Why?
Besides enhancing the color for visual appeal,
There is an abundance of Amethyst
Especially in places such as Brazil.
The mystery was solved.
I love working with Amethyst.
Inadvertently I chose Amethyst.
The right crystal had found it's way to me,
But a lesson was learned.
There are many other enhanced Crystals &
Gemstones on the market.
Turquoise & "Green" Quartz among them.
Real Turquoise is hard to find & costly.
Often times what passes for Turquoise
is simply dyed Howlite.

Many times Shop owners themselves
are unaware.
Take the time to learn before you purchase.

April - Full Moon in Libra

Tomorrow night the Full Moon arrives in Libra.

Libra
Ruled by Venus,
Goddess of love & beauty.
Libra is the sign of partnership,
harmony & peace.

Libra, symbolized by the scales.
Balance.
Libra strives for fairness
Justice
Peaceable co-existance.

Libra is very distinct from the other signs,
For Libra is the only sign NOT represented
by Life - Human or Animal.
Every sign on the astrological wheel is
represented by a living creature.
Man, represented by the Aquarius Water Bearer,
The Virgo Virgin, The Gemini Twins..
Animal, as represented by The Leo Lion,
The Cappy Goat, The Aries Ram -
Across the wheel it goes,
Until Libra.

Libra.
Balance
If We allow Our Human Emotions
too weigh too heavily,
We become out of balance,
disjointed.
If We rely solely upon Our instincts
We react without giving thought;
Possibly creating situations
We may have handled otherwise.

Perhaps Libra contains a message of Spiritual attainment.
If We learn to balance That which makes us human
With That which connects us to our brothers & sisters
of the animal kingdom;
Then We shall know harmony.
Then we shall know peace.
It is then we shall truly "know" Spirit.
The Wise One's knew.
Maybe One day, We shall know too.
May you find balance in your life.

Spirit calls to Her children, Offering guidance. But like most children, Often times We choose not to Heed that guidance If We are wise, We will learn from Our mistakes. But If We are Not a Great Cleansing SHALL come.

Talkin' Crystals

Crystals... No, They are NOT some New age Mumbo Jumbo.
Crystals have long been used by the ancients.
The Ancient civilizations of Egypt, Rome,
Even the Mayan cultures honored & worked with Crystals.
References to Crystals can bee found throughout the Bible.
Some Stones were used for medicinal purposes.
Some, for Spiritual.
Some crystals were reserved for Royalty.

Native Americans refer to them as "Stone People".
They are the "Record keepers".
They are our teachers.
Our history, for They are Mother Earth Herself.
Generations have walked across Her.
The Blood & Spirit of ancestors is carried within
the energies of every stone, every crystal.
There are many ways to connect with crystals,
To benefit from their wisdom, their energy.
We can simply wear them, or carry them upon us.
We can place them around our homes, workspaces, even our cars.
We can create grids to cleanse & energize.
We can use them for Crystal remedies & Gem Waters.
Treat your Crystals & Gemstones with care and respect.
Honor them and they shall share their secrets with you.
The next time you find yourself drawn to a particular stone,
Follow your inner guidance -
For that stone has a lesson to share with you.
